Summary:

As the 5 th Legion of GDS, the Armored Legion acts as the armored warfare, land-based logistics, and overwhelming firepower experts of GDS.

During initial missions and contracts in the early years of GDS, any personnel sent out to perform combat related tasks often found themselves in the unfavorable position of being dependent on a client’s supply line. If for example a legionnaire ran out of ammo or rations, they’d have to hope that the client’s military had remembered to bring enough supplies not just for their own forces but for GDS personnel as well.
While legionnaires do bring their own supplies, a person can only carry so many boxes of 7.62 and FRNs to the frontline before their spinal column collapses.

The greatest way to break a military force is to cut off their logistics and supply lines, and GDS at the time was essentially doing that job for the enemy by sending in personnel without providing adequate support. What you’ll come to realize over time is that cases such as this, where we failed as an organization, are what often lead to the most important lessons.

To address this supply line deficiency, GDS purchased a number of trucks that were hastily refitted by inexperienced personnel until they were “serviceable” in combat situations. These supply/gun trucks were previously used on farms to haul cow manure around, and after being worked on by the proto-Vanguard Legion as they were, now sported a number of metal plates welded and bolted to the frame on every surface except the windows. If the trucks so much as touched ground softer than the average front lawn they’d immediately sink up to the axel, so only the utmost cautious of drivers were allowed to operate them. It would not be amiss to state that there was a severe lack of such drivers in the earlier days of the organization. Seeing Iza’s face after we sunk one up to the windshield in a bog was worth the time it took us to dig it out. – Nahli
This would in turn lead to the formation of the Mechanical Legion once the engines began exploding, but that’s for the next section.

Not long after implementing this new supply line as it were, funding was set aside to begin the formation of a true armored force that could act as both a logistics supplier and fire support provider. From here more trucks were bought, old APCs were purchased from military boneyards to be refitted by mechanics, and drivers/crew for these new vehicles were hired on.
After Vanguard forces stole five enemy tanks during one particular contract, Arbiter Iza decided that it was time to form the Armored Legion.

Many, many years later, the Armored Legion now fields an unmatched force of terrestrial logistics and firepower. On top of providing fire support, logistics and transportation for our legions, the Armored Legion takes on similar contracts for a wide range of clients. Quite commonly, the Armored Legion can simultaneously have contracts to provide bombardment for an invasion, break through a defensive line, evacuate refugees to a safe location during a natural disaster, and help ensure waylaid shipments of perishable goods arrive to grocery stores on time.
There was, at one point, an existing contract with a town to help ensure children could be shuttled to school on time after their singular school bus was involved in an accident. While the Armored Legion didn’t possess an exact replacement for a school bus, they were more than happy to provide a driver, a navigator, and a MBTT-3 “Rock Wall” armored troop transport.
As the transport was meant to move around two squadrons of legionnaires, and not fifty schoolchildren, a few of them had to ride on the exterior while under what I am going to hopefully assume was strict supervision. You tell me Hansuke. Go to the Ledger of Infractions, sort by the Armored Legion, and tell me. – Ye-Jun

To this day, the Armored Legion boasts an unbreakable logistics network that has kept both GDS and our clients ahead of any and all adversaries. Munitions arrive on time, rations never run out, fresh water might as well be endless, and evac is never late. This can only be accomplished thanks to the overwhelming firepower the Armored Legion fields at every opportunity, ranging from artillery, to missile systems, battle tanks, armored land trains, and the only biomechanical mech force in the world.

As part of the Armored Legion’s mission are the following declassified special operations groups.

Mist Stalkers
Comprised of the most elite Wyrok pilots in all of GDS, the Mist Stalkers is the squadron that every Wyrok pilot aspires to join. Often correctly categorized as possessing the greatest firepower of any individual squadron in GDS, the Mist Stalkers are only ever deployed when the situation calls for no possibility of failure.

Tyrant’s Might
Deployed only when the situation calls for nothing less than complete devastation, Tyrant’s Might is comprised of three of the largest tanks in the GDS arsenal; the UHAA-133 “Kakos Kharis”. While not deployed often, Tyrant’s Might have proven themselves unstoppable when it comes to breaking through hardened defensive lines, rolling over enemy fortresses, or leading a charge directly into a capital city.

War Train
Logistical experts that claim a 100% success rate at delivering equipment or supplies to any location within 24 hours, often behind enemy lines. As part of their operations, War Train frequently works alongside TSR-03.

Ballistica
A special operations unit consisting of three Armored Legion squadrons, Ballistica acts as an armored shock attack group. While their choice in mobile armor varies from Hard Irons to mobile artillery and mobile missile launchers, they frequently deploy in what can only be described as highly unconventional ways. On one occasion, Ballistica transported their entire operational unit as individual parts before rebuilding everything within an enemy’s base.

Nomad
For the Armored Scout Cavalry, Nomad is the proving ground for a legionnaire’s skills in recon, survival, and evasion. Deployed in a solo fashion with only their Scout Beast, legionnaires within Nomad scout out and track down enemy operations deep within the wilderness. At times, this can take months of working alone in the most unforgiving terrain imaginable.
