Cannons

Cannons, who doesn't love a good ol' bit of tech centered around "big metal tube that directs big metal exploding bullet". Largest core concept for a cannon is that it's a weapon that fires a singular shot, one of tremendous volume and filled to the complete brim with the potential to cause harm. There's a debate on what happens if such a device shot really quick but I still maintain that's a vulcan annhilator, not a cannon.

Well then what's the different between a cannon, and a sniper cannon? Easy, a cannon is for indiscriminate large-scale destruction, while a sniper cannon is for precise and accurate large-scale destruction.

A few examples:

I want to level a sky scraper = cannon.
I want to shave off the top 25 floors of a skyscraper and no more = sniper cannon.
I want to blow up an enemy convoy = cannon.
I want to blow up only three exact trucks in an enemy convoy = sniper cannon.
I want to shoot down a supersonic enemy aircraft = missiles.
I want to shoot down a supersonic enemy aircraft without having Iza beat me into a coma cause I spent all that cash on a missile = sniper cannon with the best gunner we can get our hands on.

How do cannons compare to missiles then? Aren’t missiles better suited for large scale destruction with extreme levels of precision?
Well missiles are expensive, and a plasmatic coated hunk of metal travelling at incredibly concerning speeds is not. A missile also depends on being equipped with a payload for destructive capability, otherwise you're throwing an empty soup can for all the enemy cares.

Know what doesn't need a payload? 50 metric tons of plasmatic coated tungsten travelling at escape velocity speeds.

With our cannons, we have the following classes.

Sky Shatter

Heaviest class of cannon weaponry, only found in static defenses and Glacier.

Heaven Piercer

Elite class, used by Wyroks, base defenses, and our heaviest tanks.

Horizon Quaker

High end class, used by Wyroks, base defenses, tanks, and some specialists.

Cloud Burster

Professional class, used by base defenses, tanks, trucks, specialists, squadrons.

Fog Breaker

Baseline class, mostly used in squadron level weapons and transports.
