Specialty Tech

Introduction

It appears I’ve been, yet again, “volunteered” to write out a section detailing a few of the technologies we use here. Tech that, mind you, anyone from my legion would be more than capable of explaining in great detail without my supervision. That’s around, say, 90,000 different potential candidates to choose from.
Yet here we are. Thank God I don’t have any other pressing matters to attend to, all of which might involve a certain someone metaphorically kicking in my door at all hours of the night to get a progress report like some sort of unreasonable, neurotic banshee. How sweet, fuck you too. – Iza
Arbiter, please use direct messages for this kind of commentary. – Hansuke

I’ll cover a few essentials, and then I expect you to get off my ass for the rest of the quarter.
Acris, this is more suited towards direct messages. Remove it. – Hansuke

When we talk about specialty tech, what this refers to is the technology that GDS uses that cannot be found anywhere else. While we have our own network protocols, encryption methods and other re-engineered versions of commonplace tech, I’ll instead focus on the truly unique entries. I will also limit this tech that wasn’t created for the sole purpose of warfare, such as plasmatic or pulse weapon tech.
As a result, I can fully expect that by the time this primer manual makes it into the hands of legionnaires, this section will be comprised of at least 90% black bars over text and the occasional left over conjunction that they forgot to cover up. Then focus more on writing in general terms than on spending an entire paragraph bitching. – Iza

To that end, I’ll give the most top-level summaries possible of the following:

  • Gray Conduits
  • Gray Cores
  • Synthetic Musculature
  • Biomechanical Augmentations, Prosthetics
  • Uniform Tech

Bear in mind, I will only be giving a surface level explanation of each. Should you so choose, you may access Tome from any GDS issued info slate or comm hood and then peruse the Science Legion library for more in depth explanations of each subject.
Of note I would recommend Simulating Life: An Exploration of Bioelectric Powered Synthetics by Dr. Marchanis and Returning to Eden: Programming Life by Dr. Thanwortz and Dr. Applegate.

As you read on, you may have a question that I’ve often seen: for the systems that operate off of blood, where is acquired from?
Throughout your career, you will have blood draws as part of your normal medical checkups. After the blood has been tested and checked, any excess is sent to the Science Legion for usage with Gray Conduits and their related technologies.

Not like you were using it anyway. Acris, find a better way of stating this. – Hansuke
