Introduction

In this primer manual, we will be covering a wide swath of subjects to better help you become acclimated to your new career.

Whether you’re in the middle of conditioning training, or graduated and on the way to the tech school of your LOS, we hope that this manual will provide clarification and guidance during your first few years as a new legionnaire.

Have we decided on whether this manual will be issued before conditioning training, or after? – Iza
At this time, we are unsure Arbiter. As it stands, this has the knowledge needed by those about to embark on an expedition, but also an abundance of common and redundant entries that doesn’t suit an already seasoned audience such as that. Once the manual is complete we can review it in full and determine where in a legionnaire’s career it best fits. – Hansuke

Within the following pages, you will learn of:

  • GDS history, organization and operations.
  • GDS Legions and their areas of operation.
  • Common weapon systems and their manual of arms.
  • GDS drones, aircraft and armored vehicles.

· Common equipment and their usage, such as combat uniforms, hazard gear, and explosives.

  • GDS health and welfare.

Truth be told, I am still not convinced that relatively new legionnaires need to know of the expeditions, Glacier and other related matters. – Hansuke
Depending on the results of the 6th expedition, we may make the knowledge more widespread, though I don’t disagree. We can revisit it after our return and come to a decision before this is published. – Iza

In addition to the above, we will touch on an area of recent secrecy; that of our expeditions aboard our mobile fortress, Glacier.

This doesn’t sound right, not entirely sure how to phrase this in a way that’s acceptable. – Hansuke
We could possibly categorize it under “extended operations”, would it make sense to even discuss the Celestial Throne in this document? – Ye-Jun
Could we downgrade the Celestial Throne, Glacier and other related info in terms of clearance? – Hansuke
No, in this instance we’d want to upgrade legionnaire clearances rather than downgrade classifications. I’ll leave that up to Iza. – Ye-Jun
We could opt to increase training on handling classified information and materials. I haven’t reached a decision, but we may instead issue this document to legionnaires either halfway through tech school, or upon graduation. As such, we’d have to flatly jump nearly everyone to a top-secret clearance. I’m not sure if that’s wise. – Iza
It isn’t. – Ye-Jun

To ensure completeness we’ll write assuming they will be given that level of access, then redact the unnecessary content when we come to a decision later. – Hansuke

As we will always reiterate throughout this manual, it serves as a point of reference rather than a source of absolute fact. For official purposes, please reference Tome or the relevant regulation. On top of this, we encourage you to bring up any questions or need for guidance with your NCO or commanding officer.
